Annotation

It is given the integrated assessment under the conditions of Northern Ossetia-Alania of the main agric and biological characteristics and economic efficiency of new apple-tree varieties, immune and steady against a scab, the most from which are created in NCRRIH&V together with State Scientific Institution All-Russian Research Institute of Horticultural Breeding. The research were carried out according to the standard programs and techniques of breeding and variety's studing. The most fast maturing apple-tree varieties of Feya and Talisman which started the fructification for 1-2 year after landing are selected. The high productivity is noted for Carmen, Rassvet, Talisman, Vasilisa and Granatovoe (31,0-38,5 t/hectare). The high yield of standard fruits (to 80-85%) is noted for Feya, Carmen, Orpheus and Granatovoe. The indicators of economic efficiency of cultivation of new varieties are calculated. The most perspective apple varieties for industrial cultivation are selected: Rassvet, Carmen, Granatovoe. High level of economic efficiency of cultivation of these varieties are caused by an optimal combination of immunity to a scab with a complex of the main economic signs: fast and high productivity, fructification regularity, high quality and standardization of fruits. The highest growth of profitability is noted in a group of autumn apple-tree varieties - to 16,6% (Carmen), and in a group of winter varieties - to 24,8% (Granatovoe). In a group of early summer varieties the Rassvet variety on profitability level corresponds to a control variety of Geneva Erli, wich is the one of the best variety of this maturing term. The use for optimization of industrial assortment in the Northern Ossetia-Alania of new apple-tree varieties, immune and steady against a scab, will allow us to increase in economic efficiency of gardening branch and to improve an ecological situation in the region due to decrease in number of processings by means of plantings chemical protection.

Annotation

Walnut (Juglans regia L.) is one of the leading nut crops. Brown spot Marssonina juglandis P. Magn, caused by the fungus Gnoonia leptostyla Ces. et De Not, the most common and harmful disease affecting walnut plants. The diseaseaffects mainly leaves, shoots and fruits. In wet years with heavy rainfall in the first half of summer, especially favorable conditions are created for the development of brown spotting, which leads to large yield losses, sometimes up to 50 % or more. The purpose of the study is to identify the most resistant genotypes for use in breeding based on a long-term field assessment of resistance to brown spot of walnuthybrid forms. The objects of studyare 21 promising hybrid forms of walnuts bred at the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution NCFSCHVW.Control variety Rodina. The garden was planted in 2014, according to the layout of 5 × 4 m. The studies were carried out on a natural agrobackground in a selection garden in 2019-2021, in the central part of the Kuban horticulture zone of the Krasnodar Territory, on the basis of CJSC OPKh Tsentralnoye, Krasnodar. The degree of damage to the hybrid forms of the walnut Marssonina juglandis P. Magn was assessed using a scale from 0 to 5 points. It was revealed that Marssonina juglandis P. Magn annually causes damage to walnut plants, and the degree of disease damage depends on the prevailing weather conditions. According to long-term data, hybrid forms of walnut resistant to brown spot have been identified: 17-2-35, 17-3-10, 17-3-12, 17-3-13.17-3-16, 17-3-22, 17 -3-24, 17-3-27, 17-3-29, the degree of damage over the years of study of which varied from 1.1 to 2.0 points; the maximum did not exceed 2.0 points. The identified forms of walnut are promising for further breeding for resistance to Marssonina juglandis P. Magn.

Annotation

According to the complex of valuable biological characteristics it is evaluated the promising apple varieties of regional and foreign selection with MM 106 rootstock under the conditions of North Ossetia-Alania. The studies were carried out in accordance with the generally accepted and developed by the employees of the selection center of the FSBSI NCFSCHVW programs and methods of breeding and variety study. Objects of research is genotypes of apple-trees of different ploidy and genetic origin. In total, there were 31 cultivars and 1 elite apple form in the study. According to the results of long-term data of ecological variety testing, the varieties with early, middle, late and very late dates of the beginning of the growing season are identified. The apple varieties of Zolotaya Korona, Zolotoy Potok, Interprise, Lyubimoe Dutovoy, Pink Lady, Prikubanskoe, Red Chif, Champion Reno, Florina, Fuji and elite 12/2-20-35 with late flowering and mixed fruiting are selected. It was established that the varieties of Pinova, Carmen, Liberty and elite 12/2-20-35 have annual abundant flowering (4,8-5,0 points) and a higher average yield among the studied varieties up to 38,40-52, 63 t/ha under the condition of North Ossetia-Alania. According to the results of many years research, the apple genotypes promising for breeding and production were identified, there are Lyubimoe Dutovoy and the elite form 12/2-20-35 with a complex of valuable biological characteristics annual plentiful flowering, late flowering, mixed fruiting and high productivity. Ecological variety study of apple genotypes of various genetic origin under the conditions of North OssetiaAlania made it possible to select and recommend the most valuable varieties for use in breeding and production.

Annotation

The studies were carried out in accordance with the generally accepted and developed at the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution NCFSCHVW programs and methods of breeding and varietal study. The objects of research are apple varieties and forms (Malus x domestica Borkh.) of different ploidy and genetic origin. The purpose of the research is to allocate the most valuable by a set of features representatives of the genus Malus for further use in breeding on a base of the study of their biological features of the growth and fruiting in the conditions of the south of Russia. The study of the biological potential of the productivity of apple genotypes obtained from heteroploid crossings made it possible to conclude about the breeding value of both triploid varieties and forms and diploid. According to the results of multi-year studies, apple genotypes with high yields are allocated (34.92-36.92 t/ha), including triploids: Gin, 12/1-20-59 and diploid variety Granatovoe; all dedicated genotypes from the Idared x Balsgard 0247E family. Higher indicators of the specific productivity of the canopy volume (SPCV), reliably exceeding control, are marked in genotypes with different chromosomal set created with the participation of the triploid Balsgard 0247E. Diploids with high specific productivity of the canopy volume Granatovoe (19.49 kg/m³) and 12/1-20-4 (12.89 kg/m³) are allocated, also triploid variety Gin (13.07 kg/m³) is selected. At the level of control of the SPCV is in large-fruited, high-quality elite forms: 12/1-20-59 and 12/1-20-80. According to the results of multi-year studies, large-fruited elite forms are allocated: 12/1-20-59, 12/1-20-80 and immune to the scab variety Granatovoe, high-yielding, with attractive bright coloring fruits, with a high fruit tasting assessment (4.7-4.8 points), which are promising for inclusion in the future in breeding programs to combine increased productivity indicators, adaptability to the complex of abiotic and biotic stress factors of the cultivation region, high commercial indicators of the quality of fruits.
